At Peak Performance Strength & Conditioning, every program is built with a purpose. Training is based on established exercise science and strength and conditioning principles, including progressive overload, periodization, sport specificity, proper recovery, and long term athletic development.
Individualized Programming
Every athlete has different needs. Age, training experience, sport, position, movement ability, goals, and competition schedule all influence how a program is designed. An elementary school athlete should not train exactly like a professional athlete. Exercises, intensity, volume, and progression are adjusted to meet each athlete where they are.
Strength, Speed, and Power Development
Research supports properly supervised resistance training as an effective way for athletes to improve strength, power, sprint performance, and change of direction ability.
Athletes at Peak Performance develop these qualities through resistance training, sprinting, jumping, plyometrics, medicine ball exercises, and other methods appropriate to each athlete’s developmental level and training experience. Technique and movement quality come first. Load and intensity increase as the athlete demonstrates the ability to perform each movement safely and consistently.
Planned Progression
Training is more than completing random workouts. Programs are organized into phases that develop specific physical qualities over time. Each phase builds upon the previous one so athletes can continue progressing without attempting to train every quality at maximum intensity during every session.
Training volume, intensity, exercise selection, and recovery are managed according to the athlete’s current needs and time of year.
Performance With a Purpose
The goal is not simply to make athletes tired. The goal is to help them become stronger, faster, more explosive, more confident, and better prepared for the physical demands of their sport.
When appropriate, sprint times, jump measurements, movement assessments, and training performance are used to monitor progress and guide future programming.
Peak Performance combines scientific principles with quality coaching and real athletic experience to help every athlete develop for long term success.
