I’m Xavier Smith, better known to many athletes as Coach X, and the owner of Peak Performance Strength & Conditioning in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
I grew up in Wake Forest and graduated from Wakefield High School in Raleigh before earning a full scholarship to play Division I football at East Carolina University. During my time at ECU, I lettered for three seasons and experienced firsthand the commitment, preparation, and discipline required to compete at a high level.
Today, as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), I use that experience to develop athletes from elementary school through the professional level. My programs combine strength, speed, power, agility, and movement training through progressive coaching suited to each athlete’s age and experience.
At Peak Performance, athletes are not given random workouts. Every session has a purpose. My goal is to help each athlete become stronger, faster, more explosive, and more confident while building habits that support lasting development and success.
Coaching Philosophy
Setting up cones and telling an athlete what to do makes you an instructor. Knowing why each drill matters and how it helps that athlete improve makes you a coach.
Every exercise at Peak Performance is selected to match the athlete’s age, sport, goals, experience, and current needs. The goal is not to keep athletes busy. The goal is to help them improve with purpose.
